Catalunya- Arts, Crafts and Cultural Immersion

Your host will immerse you in life in Catalunya. You will learn about its history and how it has shaped todays society.

Shared activities with the archaeological student group: visiting Juniper ovens and making juniper oil. Learning about the Catalan history, culture and traditions (for example: dance Sardana & Figots Satanic performance). Visiting Spanish civil war sites and the Ebro battle places (like Corbera old village, museum and trenches).

The Crafts group will also learn:

travel diary workshop including drawing and illustration workshop and introduction into pre-photographic technique of Cyanotype and Japanese binding.

the techniques of regenerative agriculture and possibly some roofing with reed’s thatched, reeds, roof tiles

Traditional “Capgrossos” workshop  (Mask making)

FUNDING

The Turing grant will cover accommodation, food (3 meals a day), return, flights, insurance, transport to site and supervision. Participants will have to make sure they have their EHI or GHI card and budget for personal purchases and excursions.
